Visual Arts


The Visual Arts Committee, together with the Estevan Arts Council and Organization for Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC), is dedicated to support and promote local artists and provide a creative experience for the residents of Estevan. We organize art workshops, host the Annual Ev Johnson Adjudicated Art show, and fund youth scholarships.


The Estevan Arts Council is looking for instructors to teach visual art classes in any medium to our local community. If you are interested please complete the Questions for Instructors”and forward to the Estevan Arts Council office in the Leisure Center either in person, by mail (701 Souris Ave. ESTEVAN SK S4A 2T1), or by email,

Art Workshops

The Visual Arts Committee organizes and hosts a variety of art workshops throughout the year. Dates and times for upcoming workshops can be found here, and participants can register by calling the Estevan Arts Council office at 306-634-3942 or by going to the office in person.

Please note that payment for each workshop class is due upon registration and that registration is mandatory to participate. All cheques can be made payable to: Estevan Arts Council. If you need to cancel your class registration, please contact the arts council office at 634-3942.

Adjudicated Art Show

The annual Adjudicated Art Show offers emerging visual artists and craftspeople the opportunity to exhibit their work, participate in informational and hands-on workshops and to develop skills through participating in critiques with professional artist/adjudicators.

Scholarship Program

In the spring of each year, art scholarships are offered to students in grades 7 to 12 to assist them in their pursuit of further training in their chosen art field (drama, art, music, dance, etc) at a summer arts camp or workshop.
